Philanthropy

  • Zeta Tau Alpha’s national philanthropy is breast cancer education and awareness. In addition to the independent efforts preformed by individual chapters across the country, every year thousands of YoplaitTM yogurt lids are collected to raise money for the Zeta Tau Alpha Foundation. These lids can be seen with the "Think Pink" trademark on them which is a registered trademark of Zeta Tau Alpha. Zeta Tau Alpha has also been in partnership with the NFL for over 10 years. Collegiate members as well as alumnae have distributed 685,000 pink ribbons to fans in order to raise awareness.

The Gamma Kappa chapter dedicates the entire month of October towards raising money for BCA in order to create awareness, education, and action on the James Madison University campus. In the year 2007, Gamma Kappa raised over $15,000 and won the award for Best Philanthropy on campus for the third year in a row. In 2009, Gamma Kappa raised over $30,000 proudly announced that a portion of the money raised will go to a local Harrisonburg organization that helps woman who are battling cancer. This April Gamma Kappa will be hosting the first annual Crown Classic Golf Tournament which will be held at Lakeview Golf Club in Harrisonburg. This event is being held in Gamma Kappa's never ending effort to find more ways to raise money for BCA.
